Each plate is made of solid, heavy, thick, cast bronze, not flimsy wrought, pressed, or stamped bronze, and not bronze-plated steel.The plates were salvaged from a hotel in Kansas City built in 1915.Each plate has an simple, rectilinear design accentuated by a dark, rich, original patina. The degree of patina varies from plate to plate (see last photo to compare).The beauty and craftsmanship of these pieces are only matched by their superb condition. All plates are free of any breaks, cracks, gouges, dents, chips, or deep scratches. Dimensions:2 7/8" W x 8 1/4" H x 1/4" thick(opening for knob is 1 11/16" diameter and distance from center of keyhole to center of knob hole is 3 1/4")
